Is the act helping, do you think it’s a good thing or a bad thing – vote yes for good, no for bad!
The legislative groundwork for the Hate Crime and Public Order Act was laid through rigorous debates, public consultations, and a thorough legislative process.
The Act’s passage was not without controversy, as it sought to tread the fine line between protecting individuals from hate crimes and preserving freedom of speech.

This new, totalitarian law will also ban critisism, freedom of opinion, freedom of belief, freedom of speech. The country I was born in came across these things a few times: WW2 and German occupation and then Communist times. I remember we weren't even allowed to talk jokes about our neighbours Russians etc because someone could get offended and our parents could end up in a jail. Previous legislation deal fine with hatred, new law will trigger true hate and resistance.

Really this is just absolutely criminal, and a complete abuse of their powers, to change the law like this to benefit a small minority because they are too easily offended by the majority's opinion. It is ludicrous just like so many other things these past few years.

This weaponises all sorts of fringe groups and will be used to vilify innocent people by people filled with hate for others. It will also take up valuable Police time and form alienation in many forms but especially those unfairly accused. Free Speech you are entitled to your view. I may not like it but I respect that it's yours to say

Better use of Police time could be to track real crimes! Better use of public funding could be used on a thousand different areas far more important!

It's a joke and makes a mockery of everyone who trusted the SNP with their previous vote.

It is a really crap law that is not needed and will put extra pressure on the cops when they least need it.

Everything the bill tries to cover is already covered in The Equality Bill 2010 except if course women's rights which seem to have taken second place to transexual rights. Everything this coalition Scottish govt do is designed to be devisive. Just look at the FMs rant about white people in high level jobs!
